I love his laugh, and his smile. I love how he teases me and the way he pays such close attention to the smallest detail of Shelby’s attitude or tone that he knows her as well as he knows himself.


Chad has no intention of settling down and accepting his small town life. He just wants more. Being accepted at the University of Toronto gives him an opportunity to pursue his  dream and embrace the big city life.

Seven years later, Chad is living the life he always wanted. But there's just one hiccup, he just came to know that he has a daughter that he never knew about. Her mother is dead and his father who then adopted her in secret has passed away as well. Now her fate lies in his hands. But to be granted sole custody of his daughter Shelby, he needs to have a partner.


I guess friends are better than it all going to shit when he realizes I’m in love with him.


Louis Martin is a criminal defence lawyer who specializes in family law. He is also Chad's former university roommate, current business partner and best friend.

It would be the perfect partnership if only he hadn't been in love with him and pining after him for as long as he can remember.

Now his bestfriend needs him to pretend that they are a couple so he can get sole custody of his daughter.


But there is a fine line between pretend and reality. What happens when it's not just pretend anymore? Will Chad, a guy who's always considered himself to be straight give in the newly found attraction to his bestfriend? Most importantly, will they be able to give Shelby a home?


This was a lovely gay for you, second chance romance. I love how Chad's character evolves throughout the storyline. Louis was such a stand up guy always there and supporting his bestfriend. I loved how Shelby came into their lives and brought them closer. She was such a little ray of sunshine and a bundle of joy.


If you like a friend to lovers romance with a bisexual awakening and a sweet found family, this will be perfect for you.
