REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Carey Everett is a former Marine and lower leg amputee, who helps fellow veterans and their families. He finds purpose in his life through channeling his strength into helping others. When he takes time off to go on a vacation to San Diego, it gives him the opportunity to reconnect with his best friend and the man who saved his life.
Jase DeSantis is a platoon medic and an aspiring singer who is in love with his straight best friend who will never reciprocate his feelings. Making music with his band keeps the horrors of his PTDS at bay.
What happens when Carey starts noticing Jase as more than just his best friend? Will sparks fly or will his doubts and fears tear them apart first?
This was absolutely exceptional! Jase's PTDS was absolutely heartwrenching. We get to see flashbacks throughout the book of how Carey and Jase met, and how their friendship blossomed along the way. I loved how resilient their friendship was. There was an intense, electric chemistry between them. It's not often where we get to see two damaged MC's and this made their story all the more precious to me.
If you like a friends to lovers, self discovery, hurt/comfort romance with two damaged men falling in love and exploring their sizzling chemistry, I absolutely recommend this for you. This will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions and keep you wanting for more.
